     Nothobranchius furzeri may be the shortest lived annual.  It rarely survives 6 months in the aquarium, although there recorded instances of extended life.

     This species is found in the Guluene River drainage in southeastern Zimbabwe and the lower Limpopo, Changane, Chefu, Mazimechopes, Incomati and Vaneteze river drainages in southern Mozambique.
